Welpo Automations

Operations software and automation, built for the realities of modern manufacturing.

Welpo Automations LLC develops software, connected devices, and industrial automation systems for complex manufacturing environments. We are affiliated with Streamline Electronics Manufacturing Inc. (SEM), an electronics manufacturing company founded in 1994, and our work is grounded in a live production environment where a prior version of our platform has been running for over a year.

What We Do

Welpo builds industrial software and automation tools that change how manufacturing work is organized, tracked, and executed. Our current flagship initiative is an Operations Management System that coordinates workflows across departments, tracks production activity and work order progress, manages approvals and exceptions, handles incidents and quality events, and maintains visibility into the state of ongoing work. It brings the day-to-day coordination that normally lives across spreadsheets, email threads, and disconnected tools into a single operational surface.

The system is being developed in stages, beginning with a modern internal foundation built from proven live production tools, then expanding into deeper workflow automation, intelligent process management, and AI capabilities that act on the operational data the platform accumulates. Alongside the core platform, we also develop connected devices, automated measurement and validation tooling, and other hardware-adjacent automation, reducing manual effort and strengthening operational control at both the physical and process level.

Our Story

Welpo was born from a real operational need inside SEM. By 2023, manufacturing complexity had outgrown the tools holding it together: spreadsheets, disconnected systems, and manual coordination were no longer scaling across live production. A multidisciplinary team across engineering, data management, technology, and process operations built the first version of the platform to address those challenges, shaped through research, prototyping, and iteration on the production floor.

That foundation has now been running in live production for over a year, supporting real manufacturing activity every day. Welpo was created to take that proven internal work further, into a more flexible, scalable, and purpose-built platform for modern manufacturing operations, with the benefit of an established manufacturing partner and a production environment to build against. The work ahead is to turn a system that already runs a factory into one that can run many, expanding the platform's reach, depth, and intelligence while keeping it grounded in the operational reality that shaped it.

The Work

Manufacturing operations is a domain with genuine technical depth. At the core of our platform is a workflow engine that has to model real operational complexity: branching approvals, exceptions, parallel work, and state that has to stay correct when the physical and digital sides of the factory disagree. Around it sits a multi-tenant SaaS architecture where isolation, performance, and reliability all matter because the system is load-bearing for the businesses running on it. Integrations reach into the tools manufacturing teams already depend on, and a whole surface of work extends into connected devices, measurement and validation tooling, and other hardware-adjacent automation that bridges software and the physical line.

The stakes are concrete. These systems run in real factories, supporting real activity, where reliability and clarity translate directly into whether things get made on time. Our aim is to build systems that simplify complexity, connect fragmented workflows, and introduce intelligent automation where it delivers operational value, rather than forcing teams into rigid software patterns that ignore how manufacturing actually works.

Join Our Team

We are building practical, high-impact systems for real manufacturing environments, and we are looking for people who want to own meaningful parts of that work. Joining now means shaping the platform early across its architecture, workflow engine, hardware integrations, and product direction, rather than maintaining decisions someone else made. The work is real: what you build ships into production and runs the operations of actual businesses.

On the engineering side, our work spans a modern web stack, a multi-tenant SaaS architecture, a workflow engine at the core of the product, and integrations with manufacturing tools and systems. Alongside the core platform, we also work on connected devices, measurement and validation tooling, and other hardware-adjacent automation, with meaningful surface area for engineers who want to work across software, systems, and the physical side of operations.

We look for people who enjoy solving complex operational problems, designing durable systems, and creating technology that delivers measurable value. Backgrounds we are particularly interested in include software engineering, automation, machine learning, manufacturing operations, and product development. If that sounds like you, get in touch.
